Christmas Wreath Cookies Recipe this favorite has been around for decades Its a take-off on Rice Krispie Treats, but corn flakes replace the crispy rice. We just go for the corn flakes, because they best resemble the pine you see in wreaths. I think this recipe would also be delicious with some fruity pebbles, fruit loops, coco krispies, captain crunch, or any of your favorite cereals. I also tried making these with coco puffs and frosted flakes, and both were delicious as well.īecause the coloring is so dark, you really can’t tell what cereal it is you are using, so if you have a favorite cereal that is brightly colored, don’t worry about it. I have made these with cheerios before and they were so delicious. However, if you want to switch it out for a different cereal, you most definitely can. However, when it has all that sugary goodness on it, you really can’t tell that it is corn flakes. I personally am not a fan of corn flake cereal. What other cereal could I use for this recipe? Have fun with it, and let the kids pick out what they want to put on their wreath. We also like to use a Twizzlers Pull and Peel to make a bow to put on the wreath. Really any fun and bright colorful topping, would work great for this recipe. We have also used sprinkles, frosting, etc. I love the sweet cinnamon flavor, but my kids prefer Sixlets, or M&M’s.
